TrekData.com

TrekData are services that provides its clients with opt-out leads. The purpose of their site is to gather e-mail addresses and demographic data of individuals interested in products and services that companies advertised on TrekData.com offer. Data is being gathered by on-line form provided on their site, but several partner sites also help in the process.

On one side, TrekData is buying leads, and on the other side, it is selling leads. Clients that are sending leads (senders) are sending leads by email every day in real time batch or by FTP. Our software processing those leads, generates statistics for each sender (how many bad emails, how many dupes, etc.) and checks if email address is valid address. It is doing that by connecting to user's mail server and checking if address really exists.
On the other side, they are filtering those leads and selling them to their clients. Each client is getting their own batch of leads that is highly targeted to client needs.

The entire system has built using standalone PHP and Perl scripts running on Linux environment and MySQL database that currently contain more than seven million of records.
